Lichen Blooming In Snow
tiny lush
pale green
oasis
upon splashes
of melting snowy ledges
gleeful trumpets
sensually full
tendrils
curve far above the rock
a centimeter's
giddy height
from a past
footprint
of mine
what do you see
that I
see not
what do you
think
of Sol
so far away
yet so close
in warmth
what do you
feel
when Luna rises
over the treetops
to shine down
and lift the
veil of darkness
from your
tiny world
within the
snowy melt
of
yesterday's footstep
What
pray tell
do you think
of me
do you think
me as beautiful
as I think you
or do you cry
to Mother Earth at night
to save you
from the attentions
of ones like me
I am sorry I
stepped
on you.
